ABOUT TEJINDER


Tejinder, 10th May 1951, Jalandhar, Punjab.
Primary education in Bastar and Raipur, Chattesgarh.
A post graduate in English literature. Have served as Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Nagpur, Sambalpur, Dehradun, Chennai, Ahmedabad,and Raipur as  part of Indian Broadcasting services.
Formerly Deputy Director GENRAL OF DOORDARSHAN
.Presently Editorial Advisor to Deshbandhu Group of Publications.
Ten books published in Hindi, Known for the work of fiction ‘WOH MERA CHEHRA’ which was based on the impact of years of terrorism during eighties on the mindset of Sikh youth, born and grown up outside Punjab, after partition.
This novel won the State Academy Award of Government of Madhya Pradesh. The Punjabi translation of this book was serialized in the leading Punjabi daily Tribune Published from Chandigarh.  The book won prestigious ‘WAGEESHWARI   PURASKAR’.  It also got very good reviews in the literary columns of ‘India Today’, ‘Sunday Observer’, ‘Nav-Bhart Times’ and other leading Hindi literary magazines.
Another novel ‘KALA PADRI’ i.e., The Black Priest was based on the mindset of the third generation of tribals in Central India whose ancestors had converted into Christianity.  This novel too got acclaim in Sahara, Hindustan, Outlook and India Today as well in the leading national newspapers of Hindi.
The diary book ‘DIARY SAGA - SAGA’ written on the study and observation based on the social-economic scenario of ‘KALAHANDI’ AND ‘BOLONGIR’ districts of Western Orissa in the form of travelogue has also been well received in the literary circles.
“UNCLE RANDHAWA IN CHENNAI” is the first work in English.
